Question 1

What is voice AI for local government?

Accepted Answer

Voice AI for local government is software that answers a city or county phone call, understands the resident in natural spoken language, looks up answers from municipal data (FAQs, ordinances, GIS, CRMs, permit systems), and either resolves the call or warm-transfers to staff with full conversation context. It replaces 1990s IVR phone trees and reaches the residents who pick up the phone before opening a chat window.

Question 2

How is EffiGov different from a chatbot?

Accepted Answer

EffiGov answers phone calls in spoken natural language, while chatbots are text-based and live on a website. Most local government interactions still happen by voice, by a 5-20x margin over chat. Voice AI also reaches residents who cannot or do not use websites: older residents, residents with disabilities, residents without broadband, and ESL households.

Question 3

What languages does EffiGov support?

Accepted Answer

EffiGov supports English, Spanish, and 30+ additional languages, with the same neural voice synthesis quality across every language. Callers do not have to navigate a language picker; the system detects the spoken language and responds in kind.

Question 4

Does EffiGov integrate with existing phone systems?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Your team forwards existing lines to a phone number EffiGov manages, using the call forwarding every phone system already supports (Cisco Webex Calling and CUCM, Microsoft Teams Phone, RingCentral, Genesys, Avaya, 8x8, iPitomy). No hardware installation, no PBX modification, and you can unforward at any time. If the cloud system has any disruption, calls reroute automatically to existing phone lines within 30 seconds.

Question 5

Where is EffiGov deployed?

Accepted Answer

EffiGov is deployed live at the City of Huber Heights, Ohio (handling over 70% of routine inquiries across multiple departments in English and Spanish) Sumter County, Florida (automating more than half of inquiries across animal services and permitting), the City of McMinnville, Tennessee, and the San Joaquin County Mosquito & Vector Control District, California. EffiGov handles 12,000+ resident calls per month across live local-government deployments.

Question 6

Is resident audio used to train AI models?

Accepted Answer

No. EffiGov does not use customer data for AI model training. This is a company-wide policy, contractually enforced through a Zero Data Retention agreement with our primary AI model provider. All data is hosted in the United States, encrypted in transit and at rest, with NIST Cybersecurity Framework and CISA-aligned controls.

Question 7

How accurate is EffiGov's voice AI?

Accepted Answer

Accuracy depends on grounding and oversight. EffiGov retrieves answers from a city's official knowledge base rather than the open internet, runs a live oversight process alongside every call that can intervene when responses drift, and audits every completed call automatically, flagging misinformation, missed transfers, and knowledge gaps with severity scores for staff review. In production deployments, EffiGov resolves more than 50-70% of routine calls correctly without human intervention.

Real deployments. Real numbers.
